Hip Hop Educator | Choreographer | Mentor | Hype Queen

Denise Aranda is a Hip Hop educator, choreographer, and mentor with over 20 years of experience teaching and inspiring dancers throughout Arizona and beyond. Although she began her dance journey later than many, Denise immersed herself in training in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Salsa while continuing to deepen her education through the study of foundational street and cultural dance styles, including House, Reggae, and Breaking.

Denise’s passion for Hip Hop extends far beyond choreography. She believes Hip Hop is a culture that deserves to be respected, preserved, and understood. Her classes incorporate education on the history, pillars, foundational movement, and technique elements of Hip Hop, helping dancers develop not only as performers but as students of the culture.

Throughout her career, Denise has earned numerous awards with Arizona Hip Hop crews and received high overall placements at regional and national competitions. As a choreographer and educator, she has worked with NBA dance teams, college dance teams, and junior high and high school dance programs both in Arizona and across the country. These experiences have given her valuable insight into the dance industry and continue to strengthen her passion for mentoring the next generation of dancers.

In addition to teaching Hip Hop, Denise currently serves as the Hip Hop Director at The Facility Dance Studio and is a guest instructor who teaches master classes throughout the Valley. She is also proud to be part of the Dance One team for three of the nation’s premier dance conventions—KAOS, RADIX, and Ovation—where she has the opportunity to educate, inspire, and connect with dancers from across the country.

Before dedicating her career fully to dance education, Denise worked in social work, a background that continues to shape her teaching philosophy today. She believes every dancer deserves to feel confident, valued, seen, and heard. Her classroom is built on encouragement, accountability, authenticity, and respect, creating an environment where dancers feel safe to grow both as artists and individuals.

What truly defines Denise’s teaching style is the energy she brings into the room. Known as the ultimate “hype girl,” she brings a loud, positive, high-energy atmosphere that makes dancers feel welcome from the moment they walk into class. Her goal is to create a space where hard work and fun can exist together—encouraging dancers to step outside their comfort zones, celebrate one another, and discover confidence they didn’t know they had.

Denise’s mission is simple: to leave every dancer better than she found them. She strives to develop dancers who are technically strong, culturally educated, authentically themselves, and confident enough to use their voices both inside and outside the studio.
